White sunlight hits the leaf. The red and blue parts are absorbed for food — the green bounces straight back out and into your eye.
The "green grass" we see is really the colour the plant refused. Chlorophyll uses red and blue to build food — the green is just what was left over, and it sprang straight into your eye.
